WANDERING AND LEARNING - KLÄTTERMUSEN
SPRING '21 EDITORIAL
Klättermusen - est.1975 - motto says ‘The world’s most refined mountaineering equipment.’. Considering the actual scenario where the outdoor market is expanding from a niche to a more wide audience, becoming a trend also off the mountains, Klättermusen has always kept its focus on the design and the utility of its pieces. Maximum safety and maximum durability, to support outdoor enthusiasts through unforgiving weather conditions and unpredictable terrains, always with consideration of the environment in mind.
‘Klättermusen was founded by a tightly-knit band of local climbers in the scenic mountain village of Åre in 1975. Initiated as a small DIY workshop for assembling parts and constructing tailored technical solutions to challenges encountered on the hill, Klättermusen grew into a business supplying outdoor enthusiasts with high-performance equipment in the 1980s. The pioneering spirit that originally spurred Klättermusen into existence remains at the heart of the company.’
For Spring '21, Slam Jam focused on the Asynja line, made in 3L Cutan®, a softshell fabric from recycled polyester with waterproof and ventilating technology. The fabric is a blend of 70% recycled polyamide, 20% polyester and 10% elastane with a fluorocarbon-free water repellent.
We went on a journey to the Italian Alps to test the products in different environments. Along with a small crew of mountain aficionados and collaborators, the photographer Teo Poggi, part of the milanese project Rayon Vert, captured the atmosphere of genuine freedom and latitude, along with the technicity of the pieces and Klättermusen layering system, another peculiarity of the brand.
